Baptisms at St Michael’s

Thank you for visiting our website to find out more about baptisms at St Michael’s Church.

We warmly welcome families who would like to explore baptism for their child. Baptism often takes place soon after a baby is born, but there is no set age and we are happy to discuss baptism at any stage.

Families living within the parish of Blundellsands are welcome to arrange a baptism at St Michael’s. Baptism services are usually held individually on Sunday afternoons, allowing family and friends to gather for this special occasion. Families may choose a hymn for the service, which typically lasts around 40 minutes.

Alternatively, baptisms can take place during our 10.30am Sunday Holy Communion service. This can be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate within the wider church family and our pastoral team would be delighted to discuss this option with you.

We also welcome enquiries from families who have strong family connections with St Michael’s. In these cases, we ask that you first make contact with the parish church where you currently live, so that they have an opportunity to meet you and offer their support.

Adults and young people who wish to be baptised are also very welcome. Preparation sessions can be arranged to help explore the meaning of baptism and the Christian faith.

We encourage all baptism families to join us for worship and become part of the life of our church community.

There is no charge for a baptism service. However, if you would like to make a voluntary contribution towards the ministry and work of the church, it would be gratefully received.

If you would like further information or advice, please complete the enquiry form and a member of our team will be pleased to help.
